Wallimage, the Walloon investment fund for audiovisual productions and enterprises, is involved in the production of "The Most Assassinated Woman in the World", a television film that will be broadcast on Netflix. The fund is investing 390,000 euros which is approximately 10% of the total budget. Netflix will be financing 50% of the budget (2 million euros), while the balance (40%) will come from the Tax Shelter. This is the first film coproduced in Belgium by Netflix.
The American streaming giant Netflix will therefore invest 2 million euros in a television film that will not only be broadcast on television but also on the digital platforms, which is half the budget provided by the Belgian production company Fontana (4 million). It will be filmed in Wallonia.
"This joint drama that depicts the mid inter-war period - with a crime show that turns to tragedy - will be released in theatres in Britain - the director and screenwriter being English - and broadcast on television on Arte", "says Philippe Reynaert of Wallimage.
This investment should generate economic benefits of 1,856 million for 30 days of filming, post-production, sound, image and special effects. Which is a return of 476%.
After a profitable 2016 (Wallimage invested in a record 38 audiovisual productions last year), 2017 also looks set to be promising for the Walloon investment fund.
