Baukunst and Bruther have been announced as the winners of the competition launched by the Paris-Saclay urban development corporation to design a student residence and a convertible public car park on the Paris-Saclay campus.
Located in the heart of the Ecole Polytechnique district, as part of the Master Plan drawn up by the team of Xaveer De Geyter Architects in collaboration with the landscape architect Michel Desvignes, the project opts for a mixed overlay of programmes within an inhabited structure to allow the versatility and reversibility of uses.
The Brussels-based architectural firm Baukunst was selected after an invitation-based competition to complete this project that includes a student residence of 185 units and a 450-space public car park on the Paris-Saclay campus.
Covering an area of over 7000 m², the building is scheduled to be delivered by September 2019.
