ISSOL, located in Dison near Liège, was founded in 2006 and produces and develops active glazing and materials for the construction sector and the glass industry. The company has recently found a large new client: China.
ISSOL's goal is to create positive energy solutions for buildings. These solutions mainly involve photovoltaics for new buildings or those undergoing renovation. The business works as a developer as well as a consultancy, managing projects and offering solutions based on the needs of its professional clients.
The European photovoltaic market has experienced a number of changes over the last few years. After a significant slump, Europe experienced fierce competition from China, to the extent that it had to impose anti-dumping measures in order to deal with the prices offered by its largest competitor. A large number of European stakeholders found themselves in a very difficult position.
Despite this, ISSOL managed to play its cards right by turning one of its fiercest competitors into its new ... client! The Dison company is currently about to launch a photovoltaic project in China by selling it more than 100 m² of panels. The specific feature of its panels is that they are white, which is a world first. These panels are intended to become part of the structure of a prestigious power distribution building in Hong Kong.
