As announced by this medical technology company in a press release, IBA has signed a 60-million euro contract with the Tata Memorial Centre (for cancer research) in Mumbai (India), to install a proton therapy centre.
IBA will equip this centre with three treatment rooms, all provided with Pencil Beam Scanning technology. This contract is worth about 60 million euros for equipment and services, including a long-term operation and maintenance contract. IBA was selected through a public call for tenders. The new centre will treat its first patient in 2019.
Based at Louvain-la-Neuve, IBA specialises in integrated innovative solutions for the diagnosis and treatment of cancer, and is the world leader in proton therapy (a form of radiotherapy). Listed on the Euronext stock exchange, the company employs 1,200 people worldwide.
