Every two years since 1991, the Wallonia Business Awards (formerly the Wallonia Export Grand Prix) reward those Walloon companies that have had the most international success. With an average of 70% of turnover generated by exports, Wallonia is one of the best performers in this area. Discover the 7 winners of the 2022 awards! Among them, and this is a new feature this year, a foreign investor who has settled in Wallonia and shone a spotlight on our region.
Due to the pandemic, the 2020 event was held virtually in an innovative ceremony accessible to everyone. On 8 September, the awards ceremony on the theme of taking-off was once again held in person in La Hulpe. It was attended by all the members of the Economic and Commercial Advisors network of the Wallonia Export-Investment Agency (AWEX) and representatives of Wallonia Brussels International (WBI), all of whom had returned to Belgium for the first time since Covid-19.
The Wallonia Export-Investment Agency received over 45 applications for this competition. These included the 7 companies who received an award, in the form of a STAR trophy designed by the Walloon designer Michaël Bihain.
