A new museum will open its doors in the Province of Luxembourg, in autumn 2018. With more than 300 works, MUDIA has taken a particularly educational approach.
Launched by a Belgian art enthusiast, and supported by the contribution of private Belgian and international collections, MUDIA brings together many original masterpieces by major figures from the Renaissance to the contemporary period, including Veronese, Brueghel, Rodin, Spilliaert, Van Dongen, Wouters, Picasso, Modigliani, Giacometti, Magritte, Hergé, Franquin, Geluck, etc. Paintings, sculptures, drawings, comics, photographs, cinema,... all coexist in an enjoyable, digital and high-tech setting, which invites the public to participate, learn and have fun all at the same time, while understanding the world of Art and its development. An original animated film explaining the History of Art and its movements has been produced especially for MUDIA, for the benefit of visitors and children.
Around forty games, animated pictures, videos and fun tests are also dotted around the museum, which extends over twenty rooms and covers seven centuries of Art History. MUDIA is located in the heart of the village of Redu, already famous as the 'Book Village', in a former presbytery which has been entirely renovated by an architectural firm in the region.
